Icobar Lite

If you have too much clutter on your desktop, you can use Icobar Lite to clean it up. This lightweight application lets you organize your icons on a dock. Although it is a bit similar to the Mac OS X dock, Icobar Lite has more features to offer, like the possibility of customizing its appearance or sorting icons into groups. The dock is neatly animated, so you can enjoy more than just a clutter-free desktop.

Icobar Lite can be used on Windows 7 and all later editions, including Windows 10. It is absolutely free and it can be installed in a matter of seconds. The application doesn't have any special requirements and you don't have to sacrifice a significant amount of resources to run it.

By default, the application will place a blue square in the bottom region of your screen, when you launch it. You can simply drag and drop icons over this square and it will automatically extend until it looks more like an icons dock. What's more, you can right click the dock, to bring up a few options, including one for creating groups.

Groups are defined on a small window, on which you can name them and pick an icon. Besides the default icons, shown on this window, you may use your own icons as well. Groups are displayed as large and colored icons, just like any other shortcut you add on the dock, but instead of launching an application, they act as folders, in which you can store more shortcuts. This way, you can add a large number of icons on your dock, without overloading it.

A tabbed properties window can be accessed by right clicking the dock and selecting the appropriate option. It presents a good number of customization options, for the dock's appearance and icon behavior. You can place the dock on a different edge of the screen, change its size and color, make it transparent and apply special effects to its icons.
